The local currency is the Bosnian Mark (BAM); 1 mark is roughly equivalent to 50 euro cents. Euros are widely accepted in shops and restaurants too.

Can you drink the tap water in Medjugorje?

Yes — tap water is drinkable throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina.

What documents do I need to enter Bosnia and Herzegovina?

A passport or some other internationally recognised identification document — for children too.

How do I get to Medjugorje?

The nearest airports are Mostar, Split, Dubrovnik and Sarajevo, and Split and Dubrovnik also have ferry ports. Our guesthouse arranges safe, comfortable transport from all of them, for individuals and groups alike — just ask when you book.

How far is the guesthouse from the shrine?

St James Church is 700 m away and the post office and bus station 300 m. Apparition Hill (Podbrdo) is 2.5 km and Cross Mountain (Križevac) 2.3 km from the house, and the nearest supermarket is 50 m away.

When are the shops open in Medjugorje?

Shops in Medjugorje are generally open from 8 a.m. until 9 p.m. (21:00) and are closed on Sundays. Most shops and restaurants accept payment by card, and take euros as well as the local Bosnian Mark (BAM).
